Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited
known as IRCTC rolled out next generation e Ticketing system to book your train
ticket more faster and user friendly manner than previous. This new generation
e ticketing booking system is nothing but change in user interface to
lightweight and adding some extra functions in it. The estimated cost of this
project was around Rs. 68.97 crores. The project covers all the 29 states and 7
union territories. Plans are also underway to make the e-ticketing portal of
IRCTC in Hindi to cater to the needs of people in Hindi-speaking states.
Earlier booking system is too slower compared to newer one.
Currently new interface is fully lightweight, therefore page load will be
faster than earlier so that you can access and book your ticket faster than
usual.
Earlier booking system carries only online 2000 tickets, the
new generation e- ticketing system asserts to be capable of booking 7200
tickets per minute. Previous version of booking system carries only 50,000
users online at a time, and now capacity has been increased to 2,00,000
simultaneous user you can see the difference here. Also it will have the
capability to easily scale up as demand increases in future. The new system has
power advance fraud control and security management tools thereby further
improving pellucid in sale of tickets.
IRCTC’s improved version e-ticketing website which works at lightning
fast speed. During ‘Tatkal’ hours (10am to 12pm) old IRCTS site was not
sufficient to handle the huge load for ticket booking. It’s a ticketing website
IRCTS has gotten a lot faster with the new update. The back end has been
upgraded to support more users.
Apart from that IRCTC has been bestowed gold in national
award for e-governance 2015-16 in the category of “Innovative Use of ICT by
Central Government PSUs”. The awards were announced at the 19th
National Conference on e-Governance, held recently at Nagpur.
Some of the best services offered by IRCTC are online
ticketing (e-ticket and i-ticket). E-catering, air ticketing, Tatkal booking,
FTR (Full Tariff Rate) for coach and train booking, shopping on e-commerce
portals, payments gateway, e-wallet, and loyalty programme.
I had already posted my grievance wherein I reminded you that site for IRTC Next Generation could not be opened due to showing of adds. by google. People are facing problems in opening the site and book the tickets and are switching over to the agents. Can't you set the same right or I shall have to write to MR Prabhu Jee to help the consumers. You assured to send the reply through my email but failed to reply, kindly solve the problem and reply.
